A person who makes a living by cheating others must have been blessed
from the past. They lie, yet many still trust them. Maybe his past karma made him choose this path innately. He only needs to act and talk charmingly enough to get money from those around him. He does not need to work hard. Day by day, he gets addicted to cheating.
CHEATING
A man stood at the door, asking: "Hello! Is anyone home? I'm looking for Mr. Thảo."
Ms. Hằng came out and said: "Hi! I'm sorry. There's no one with the name Thảo who lives here."
The man looked confused and disappointed: "It doesn't make any sense. Did I get scammed? Mr. Thảo borrowed 200 million dong from me. He asked me to come here to pay it off. How could it be? It took me 300 km to get here. I'm so tired and hungry."
Ms. Hằng felt sorry for him and said: "Please come inside and have a drink."
Sitting in the living room, he told his story to Ms. Hằng: "This guy named Thảo borrowed 200 million dong from me for his wife's medical treatment. I had only 100 million, so I asked my friend for the other half to give it to him. He gave me this address and said he would pay off the money with interest. So, is there really no one with the name Thảo here?"
Getting money without working honestly is a trap of sin. We should be careful with the "luck" that allows us to do nothing but still have money. This "luck" can turn us into dependent, lazy, and arrogant people. If they don't care to cultivate morality, their lives could end in tragedy.
If a person has a rich spouse, he/she should realize that it is not luck but a challenge. They should strive to do good deeds, cultivate morality, devote themselves to life more than unfortunate people do. They have to prove that they are deserving of that wealth.
Kings' children must be trained harder than anyone else to be good role models. Those who are related to the prime minister must be careful and maintain themselves as respectable figures. Beautiful people need to learn how to better their minds to be beautiful inside as well as outside. If people receive an inheritance from their parents, they should put it to good use and not spend it for their own benefits.
Generally speaking, working hard and devoting ourselves to life will make us feel better than having random luck.
"Unfortunately, no. My husband's name is Bình. My name is Hằng and I am very healthy."
The man started to cry in bitterness. Ms. Hằng was touched and told her son:
"Could you please get me 5 million dong from my room."
She gave the money to the man and said:
"I don't know what to say. I can give you this much. You should go to the police station to report your case."
The man said thank you and left with unsteady steps.
When her husband, Mr. Bình came home from work, she told him the story. He checked his camera, called his office, and asked his staff:
"Could you please check the camera for a clip from yesterday? There was a man wearing a blue shirt coming into the office with a girl. They asked for information about buying an apartment. Can you email it to me when you have found it?"
His family carefully watched the clip and found out the man coming to his house today and the man with a blue shirt yesterday were the same person. Bình called his friend at the police station, told the story, and sent the clips from the two cameras to the policemen. In the evening, the policeman came over and told them the whole story:
His name is Phi. He was sentenced to prison for fraud once. Prior to that, he defrauded the wealthy for large sums of money. Now he goes after smaller amount of cash to survive. The 5 millions he got from you is his big income for the day. My daily earning is only 2 hundred and 50 thousand."
Everyone just broke out laughing, while Ms. Hằng felt embarrassed and said:
"He was such a good actor, I didn't know he was a fraud."
"It's strange that he has some trivial skills and even has a certification in herbal medicine, but doesn't want to earn a living honestly. Sooner or later, he will be sent to prison again."
