Our life will be full of misery and hardship if we do not have any

WHAT FOR?

A father and a son were going for a walk in a park on a peaceful breezy Sunday morning. The son suddenly asked the father:

Why don't you take me to the park on the other days during the week?

The father replied: Because I have to work, son.

So, why do you have to work?

I work to feed our family and pay bills, such as groceries, clothes, housing, electricity or water bills, vehicles and medicine, etc. We have so many things to pay for.

Why do we need to spend that much money, Dad?

We must spend money on living and living in a decent way, sweetheart.

Dad, why do we have to live?

Otherwise, we will die

Die? What does that mean?

• It means that we don't exist in this world anymore.
• If we didn't exist, we wouldn't have to spend money, and you wouldn't need to work that hard. Is it possible, Dad?
• Don't say that, son. We have already appeared in this life. We have to try to live no matter how hard it is.
• What do we have to live that miserably for? Why don't we just die? Why don't we become non-existent?
• Do you see how meaningful the life is? Do you like me taking you for a walk like this? Do you love me and your Mom? Do you know how much we love you? Son, all of these things make the life become worthy.
• Just because we love each other, we have to live? And because of our living, you have to work that hard?
• Son, there're even more things than that. We live and work to serve and contribute to developing a wonderful society, to make others enjoy happiness and joy together, to make everyone love each other. You see, this life is more beautiful than you thought.
• What you said makes me realize that if we just live for ourselves, then we don't need to live. But because we have a family to love, so we'll try to live. And because we have a society, a country, a planet to love and serve, so we even try our best to live. Am I right, Dad?
• Yes, it's right, my son.
• But you only earn enough money for our family, how can you help others?
• That's why I have to try to earn more money
• to help more people. I pay taxes to help the nation keep working. I fulfill my duty and take care of your grandparents. I contribute money to charity. I help my friends and our neighbors when they're in need.
• Then you must be rich to help all these people.
• I don't dare to say that I'm rich, but you know? Being rich is a very good thing if we become rich to help others, my sweetheart.
• If everyone thinks like that, then our country will be rich. So, if that happens, what will our country do, Dad?
• If our country becomes rich, we can help other countries and contribute to developing a moral, happy and peaceful world.

The father and the son kept walking together on the endlessly happy day.
If we become rich, we will help others. If our country becomes rich, we will help other countries. Understanding like this will make us have an integrity motivation to live, to work, to study, to labor and to serve relentlessly. If we live just for ourselves, then we will get lost immediately.

Our life will be full of misery and hardship if we do not have any ideal purpose to live. Just because we have a certain great goal, we will make a lot of effort to live and work. Among these ideal goals that we are chasing, there is a goal of helping people around us, contributing to building a moral, peaceful and happy world together.
