Meditation is the method of making the mind concentrated; hence it will be pure, calm, wise, and have no thoughts or sentiment, especially it helps the practitioner eliminate his self and ignorance, attaining enlightenment.
At a low level, meditation is considered a mental exercise or mental hygiene that helps people relieve their stress. It is also a tend toward meditation that many places in the world are researching. Many countries have brought the practice of meditation into schools and prisons. Followers of other religions also study and practice it, too.
At a high level, meditation is considered the practice of the philosophy of Happiness because the peace of our mind is greater than any of the pleasures of the world. Also, meditation is regarded as the key to increasing one’s ability in many ways such as mental power, intuition, and miracles that begin to be studied seriously.
That inevitably will happen because meditation is the future of humans, helping them become new ones more advanced because the power of their mind is developed and used with miracles.
However, Buddhist meditation doesn’t stop at the levels of miracles. Its ultimate goals are enlightenment, liberation, non-self, and Nibbana. Buddha became the Perfectly Enlightened One through meditation. Therefore, as His disciples, we must thoroughly understand its theory, diligently practice it and give it to the world.
Vietnamese people will bring to humanity the kind of meditation scientific, objective, and unlimited by any Buddhist schools. One day, all children will learn meditation and the Law of Cause and Effect at school, and that will be the day the world becomes a paradises as Saints have ever dreamed.
