A modest mindset is beneficial for our brains, allowing us to achieve more. Modest people will become more intelligent, be able to constrain bad habits, and able to acquire a peaceful mind. The modest usually find themselves in favorable conditions due to the law of karma. They also tend to have graceful and tender faces.

An ethical person must be modest, not arrogant. Modesty means thinking of oneself not being quite good enough. Arrogance means thinking of oneself being talented enough. From the thought of not being good enough, a modest person will bring a good feeling to the table which is respect for others. On the other hand, an arrogant person always thinks of themselves as being perfect as is, which leads to a negative feeling that is condescension towards others.
By respecting others, a modest person will have words, actions, and facial expressions that please everyone. In contrast, an arrogant person, in spite of trying to restrain himself/herself, will eventually show their contempt towards others, and thus, receives hatred from many.
Even without hate from others, an arrogant mind won't be able to deal with its own arrogance. The thoughts of self-praising and condescension for others will affect the nerve in an adverse way. Many of the brain's fundamental functions will eventually disappear.
An important function of the brain is to control free thoughts from distressing us. However, a high level of arrogance will ruin this function, causing an unstoppable flow of thoughts, leading to stress, headaches, insomnia, bad memory, shortened attention span, and the whole body will be exhausted.
Another important function of the brain is to control bad desires, which allows people to live a dignified life. Arrogance also ruins this function to the point where this person will be dominated by bad desires. This person will then desire more sexual activities, surpassing what is accepted by nature and social norms. Once he succumbs to sexual sins, his honor is completely lost.
Another important function of the brain is to learn and expand one’s talent. However, arrogant thoughts kill this function, which turns the prideful into useless men.
The thoughts of praising oneself and despising others have a lot of bad consequences for the brain. In addition, arrogance can lead to bad luck. The arrogant often fall into misery and failure. Despite many efforts, everything will go wrong.

He who has an arrogant mindset is hard to change. He insists on his opinions being right, criticizes everything, makes everyone feel unpleasant, and destroys his own brain. Only when he realizes the danger of arrogance, and decides to change, that he can fix his flaws. The process will be extremely challenging. He should kneel in front of any Saint or God of his belief, confess his mistakes, promise to get rid of his arrogance, and ask for help from his Saint or Gods every single day. He should promise to respect people and promise to see that he is still lacking.
In everyday life while interacting with other people, he could easily forget and allow the arrogance take over again. It is very difficult.
It is very hard to change our mindset from arrogance to modesty. However, we must change it if we do not want to fall into hell. Once we are changed, modesty is acquired, and we are able to recognize ourselves not being good enough, then the first reward will come to us. Our heart will feel more at peace than ever before. Many good things then gradually come one by one.
