Please let me know what you love and I will tell you what I think about your morality.

Here, we might specify some developmental stages of love, each of the later is inclusive of the formers:
“Loving oneself only. Where could this kind of person end up but hell?”
“Loving one’s own family.”
“Loving one’s own kins.”
“Loving one’s own neighbors and friends.”
“Loving one’s own colleagues.”
“Loving other members in one’s association, religion, team, organization, etc.”
“Loving one’s own country.”
“Loving all humankind.”
“Loving animals and becoming a vegetarian.”
“And finally, loving the wonderful world of plants, trees, grass…

Everyone thinks that plants had no feeling or sensation, that they were as emotionless as stones, so there is no need to love vegetation. However, people who are discerning, sensitive, and have good moral qualities can really love plants.

Trees are full of vitality. Many trees have lived throughout a thousand years, which is a lot longer than a human’s lifespan. It is the vigorous vitality of trees that creates the habitat for animals. Humans, while perceiving ourselves as the pinnacle of life, are not aware that our living is based on the life of plants. Plants have nurtured human life since the beginning and have been nourishing humankind until now. Anyone who understands life must love our cradle, which is the world of plants.

Plants absorb sunshine, which helps protect humans from the radiance. They turn the energy from sunlight into materials reserved for millions of years later for the generations to come. In the heat of summer, if we walk into a forest, we will feel cool on the spot. Trees have taken in all the heat to bring others a mild space.

Plants’ roots go deep into the ground to bring water close to the ground surface, which facilitates the existence of many other species on Earth. Thanks to trees, there can exist trees, ponds, rivers, streams, lakes... Many other planets store a great amount of water deep inside their ground, but they do not have trees to bring water up, so the surfaces of those planets do not have water for life. Our Earth has forests, and thus, has water on the surface for all forms of life to flourish.

Each tree, each branch, each leaf - is a beautiful artwork by nature. That is not to mention every time the flowers blossom, we have a chance to admire a more brilliant natural masterpiece. Trees give fruits, and most fruits are edible for men and animals. If any fruits cannot be eaten, they must have some special medicinal values that can help cure a certain chronic disease.

When winds blow through branches of trees, the trees look as if they were waving at us. When storms come, trees expose themselves to the strong air blows, which weaken the destructive impacts on humans’ life. When floods come, trees slow down the water flows to reduce the danger for us. The mercies plants and trees bring to humans are countless.

He who is moral and wise will feel the connection between trees and humans. Happiness can be as simple as enjoying the shadows of some trees around our house or feeling grass holding our bare feet on the ground. Yellow leaves falling off the trees can paint a beautiful landscape for us to admire. Petals flying in the wind can inspire timeless poets. Birds singing on the branches can give us a nice chorus.

Sages can feel that trees also have simple spirit. Thus, they do not want to harm any trees. He who can love each and every green leaves is definitely not an ordinary person.
