If we are able to overcome the evil and stand on the good side, we have passed a great exam of the universe. Then, we will be chosen for a saintly world. If we can persuade many people to choose the good path, we will become great and noble beings who are able to walk freely in angelic realms.

KINDNESS

Being kind means to willingly help others and to enjoy helping others. This is contrary to human instinct, which is to be selfish and to prioritize self over others. Kind people have a natural tendency to enjoy helping others.

To change one’s instinct from being selfish to caring for others, we need a long time of self-cultivation through many lifetimes. Looking within ourselves honestly, we will see that we don’t always have the innate feeling to enjoy helping others. Only when we’re requested, advised or reminded, do we start thinking of helping the needy. We are generally not really very concerned about taking care of anyone.
If we have a kind person by our side, our life will be blissful. That person will give us a hand when we need it. That person will protect us when we are bullied. That person will celebrate with us when we are successful.

That person will console us when we fail. Even when we make mistakes, that person won’t hate us. If there are many kind people around us, we will be so happy.

These are the right thoughts to have. But, there are two questions for us to think over. First, do we need to be kind towards others just as we want them to be kind to us? Second, what can we do to make everyone in the world be kind to one another?

We need other people to be kind to us, and similarly, they also need us to be kind to them.
However, only a handful of people being kind to each other is not enough to make this world a better place.

We have to be kind ourselves first, then our sincerity will help persuade others to follow.
We should tell ourselves to be kind and helpful towards others. We should pray to the saints that we believe in to inspire us to naturally want to help people. We should also admire other kind people, and the law of karma will guide us towards the kindness that lives in our hearts.

This world is mixed with the good and the evil. This is our chance to allow the good and the bad within us battle with each other. Ultimately, we will leave this world for where we are judged. If the good wins, we will leave to a good and happy world. If not, we will leave to a bad and miserable world. The universe is always fair.

We may find it very difficult to be kind and to help people at the beginning. As time goes by and we are acquainted with such a way of life, we suddenly recognize that kindness is happiness. To live a kind life, we need to spend a lot of time, money, labor, and mental energy. But in return, when we help others and make others happy, we immediately become happy. Being aware of this, we will want to live kindly forever and will always encourage others to live the same.
