People who have many blessings have the freedom in choosing what occupation they like. Meanwhile, those who do not have many blessings cannot choose a favorite occupation and must be glad with any job. If they do not love their jobs and keep thinking about another one, they will be distracted from their current one. Thus, they do not work well in the current job and have no new job either.
The moral point here is to love what you are doing rather than wait to do what you love.
People always say that I like this job and dislike that job. If I can work on what I like, I will be happy and work effectively. If I am forced to work on something I dislike, I will be frustrated and work ineffectively. Yes, everyone says the same, but not everyone can have their favorite job.
The problem is when we have no other choices but to do the jobs we dislike, how will we react? Either we have to perform our tasks joyfully and effectively, or we are unemployed. Our favorite job is still not available for us.
The good choice here is that even when we dislike the job at first, we still learn to love it. It is a good ethic, it is wisdom, and it is courage, too. We should perceive that as life gives us the job, we have to be grateful and never disrespect any of such chances. The tendency of not disrespecting any jobs is a virtue.
Perhaps we do not like this job, but someone else fancies it while cannot have it. If we disdain this job, we are disdaining others’ care, too. We must respect other people’s favorites. Respecting what others like is also an ethic.
If we can dedicate to our current jobs and perform productively, our blessing gradually increases. The more blessing we have, the more options are available to us.
It is really ethical if we demand ourselves to love our current job.
Our ancestors picked up even a little grain of rice dropped on the floor to avoid wasting anything in life, so we cannot waste a job in our life by not loving it. No matter what occupation it is, we treasure it as it comes to us. And thus, we dedicate ourselves to it and work effectively.
Even if we do not have any job yet, we must do charity work with no salary such as cleaning up trash around our places, filling holes on the roads, cleaning the canals, visiting the elderly, taking care of the sick, giving a hand to build houses for our neighbors… It is not easy to do voluntary social services, but we try to keep doing them happily. Then one day, when we have a job to earn our living, we can offer it our wholehearted dedication.
We force our minds to love our current job, then happiness will come to us.
